W & I Inspector - Full Time

About the position

The W&I Inspector position at Dohrn Transfer Company involves inspecting less-than-truckload (LTL) freight loads to ensure compliance with National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) regulations. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of freight operations and ensuring that shipments are loaded correctly. The inspector will work closely with coworkers and supervisors to facilitate a safe and efficient working environment while adhering to company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect LTL freight shipments for proper National Motor Freight Classification descriptions.
• Measure cubes and densities to determine proper NMFC descriptions.
• Communicate efficiently with coworkers, supervisors, and other departments to ensure successful operations.
• Work in a safe and professional manner to reduce personal risks and risks to fellow employees.
• Comply with federal, state, and company regulations.
• Process all paperwork daily associated with the execution of the job.
• Work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Valid Driver License.
• High School completion or equivalent.
• Willingness to work 3rd Shift as required.
• Basic knowledge of National Motor Freight Classification descriptions.
• Self-motivated and able to self-manage.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, etc).
• Good math and typing skills.
• Prior W&I experience preferred but not necessary.
• Excellent attendance.
