About the position

The WSoC PHY/MAC Validation and Integration Engineer at Apple is responsible for validating and integrating wireless System on Chips (SoCs) to ensure they meet design specifications. This role involves working with a vertically integrated engineering team to develop and test wireless silicon, focusing on energy-efficient designs and innovative technologies that enhance user experience. The engineer will engage in tasks such as designing testing scripts, developing validation systems for Bluetooth, and analyzing test results to identify and debug issues.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute and automate directed MAC and PHY testing scripts to control and setup RF test equipment and RF chips.
  • Develop validation system for Bluetooth at the MAC layer and be involved in products from beginning to end.
  • Design and implement ranging tests using wireless technologies.
  • Collect and analyze test results, identify, root-cause, and debug issues.

Requirements

  • BS degree with 3+ years of relevant experience required; MS preferred.
  • Wireless RF background and familiarity with RF systems fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with BT/UWB/WiFi protocols.
  • Experience using Ellisys Bluetooth Protocol Analyzer is a plus.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and DMMs.
  • Python programming skills are highly desirable.
