About the position

The Senior XD Researcher - Research Operations Manager is responsible for managing the operational aspects of the Experience Design Research team's practice. This role allows XD Researchers to focus on conducting research and applying insights effectively. Key responsibilities include participant management, knowledge management, governance, communication, and tool management to enhance research efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Handle participant management including recruiting, screening, scheduling, and distributing incentives to research participants.
  • Maintain the team insights repository and oversee processes for adding and distributing research.
  • Create processes and guidelines for consent, data privacy, and asset storage.
  • Share and advocate for the value of user research within the organization.
  • Procure and manage tools and platforms to increase research efficiencies.
  • Assist the team in reporting and tracking their work for departmental visibility.
  • Conduct generative and evaluative research to understand user needs and assess prototypes.
  • Establish research goals, methods, budget, and timelines.
  • Create recruiting screeners, test scripts, and interview guides for research studies.
  • Utilize remote usability test platforms to conduct tests efficiently.
  • Provide oversight of vendors assisting with research and subject recruitment.
  • Analyze qualitative data and provide feedback analysis, differentiating from quantitative data in reporting.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in design or research operations.
  • A combined total of 7 years' experience in design or research operations, user research, program or project management.
  • Previous experience in a dedicated research-operations role is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare research settings is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design research tools and methods including ethnography, usability testing, and prototype testing.
  • Ability to communicate research recommendations clearly to project or executive teams.
  • Experience working in an agile environment (scrum, kanban, etc.).
  • Strong abilities in analysis, interpretation, and synthesis of findings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Experience with Accessibility concerns for Digital products.
  • Knowledge of Human-Centered Design (HCD) process.
