About the position

The Wafer Fab Process Engineer at SRI International's Microcircuit Emulation Center is responsible for supporting the manufacturing of microcircuits through hands-on process engineering in a low-volume, high-product mix environment. This role focuses on process development and improvements, particularly in Wet Chemistry and Diffusion, while also mentoring staff and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance yield and reliability of microcircuits.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on process engineering to support low-volume, high-product mix microcircuit manufacturing and development.
• Focus on Wet Chemistry and Diffusion processes.
• Sustain, improve, and optimize current processes to support operations.
• Collaborate with process engineers to develop manufacturable processes for existing and future technologies.
• Work in cross-functional teams to address process issues.
• Collect, correlate, interpret, and present data to management and co-workers.

Requirements

• BS (or equivalent) in chemistry, physics, material science, or an equivalent field.
• Minimum 2+ years Wafer Fab processing engineering experience in Wet Chemistry and Diffusion.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency due to Government requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot using analytical methodologies in a collaborative team effort.

Nice-to-haves

• Computer programming skills.
• Experience with RENA (MEI) wet chemistry benches and Sandvik (MRL) furnaces.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with presenting evidence-based presentations on fabrication scenarios.
