Responsibilities

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room.
  • Take food and beverage orders efficiently, following established steps of service.
  • Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Assist guests with additional needs or requests periodically.
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients.
  • Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested.
  • Accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
  • Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodation of special requests.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain good relationships with guests and staff.
  • Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
  • Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared by guests.
  • Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to the supervisor.
  • Ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods, keeping the area clean and neat.
  • Operate various equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
  • Collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar role is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
