About the position

The Wall Panel Estimator is responsible for performing professional and technical estimating activities related to trusses, wall panels, and building projects. This role involves collecting information from various stakeholders to create accurate estimates, presenting these estimates for bids, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications while optimizing costs. The estimator will also conduct market research and maintain project documentation to support the estimating process.

Responsibilities

  • Collect information from customers, contractors, and sales staff to develop estimates for jobs based on project deadlines.
  • Present estimates to sales and relevant staff for customer proposals.
  • Incorporate new products and materials into estimates to reduce costs while meeting compliance and customer specifications.
  • Eliminate products and materials when in the best interests of the company.
  • Conduct research on relevant markets, potentials, trends, and competitive positions to improve estimates.
  • Review and maintain blueprints and customer requirements for specific projects; design preliminary truss and wall panel drawings as necessary.
  • Coordinate bids with salesmen to meet client deadlines.
  • Plan and pace own work efficiency to meet productivity goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year framing residential or commercial projects or an Associate's degree or related preferred.
  • Truss or panel production experience may substitute for framing experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge/understanding of CAD software.
  • MiTek drafting software experience preferred.
  • Exemplary knowledge of quantitative methods and graphic skills.
  • Solid understanding of construction and framing methods.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to operate independently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in truss or panel production.
  • Familiarity with construction and framing methods.
