About The Position

The position involves delivering premier customer service to associates and managers by providing administrative support for the department. This includes managing time, payroll, injury reporting, transitional duty, and personnel administrative functions. The role serves as a contact for HR-related issues, managing day-to-day activities, ensuring that the timekeeping system accurately records all "time worked" by non-exempt associates and pays associates appropriately. Additionally, the position requires managing the execution of personnel administration, providing support to other Publix departments, and offering clerical and administrative support for the Department Manager and supervisors. It is important to ensure associates' identities are protected while providing necessary support. The responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive, and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Be at least 20 years old
  • Have a valid driver's license and authorization to drive a company vehicle
  • Be able to work nights
  • Be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
  • Have one year of office experience
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate ability in commonly used software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access)
  • Be able to successfully complete Clerical & Microsoft Skills tests
  • Be able to handle and prioritize a variety of tasks and responsibilities
  • Be able to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Be able to read, write, and solve math problems
  • Be able to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Be able to interpret, understand, follow, and communicate instructions
