The Warehouse and Delivery Assistant assists with delivery services and is responsible for assisting customers over the phone and in store with administrative and operational duties including merchandise handling, display, receiving, shipping, delivery preparation, maintenance, and administrative tasks. The role involves assisting customers and sales staff, scheduling pick-ups, deliveries, payments, writing and adjusting sales orders, and managing customer balances. The assistant will also help in the delivery of merchandise into customers' homes, moving merchandise to and from the floor, displaying or rewrapping for storage, delivery, customer pickup, or shipment. Responsibilities include unloading, identifying, inspecting, tagging, and receiving incoming merchandise, as well as unpacking, inspecting, assembling, and wrapping outgoing merchandise to ensure unblemished arrival. Additionally, the assistant will ensure inventory accuracy by resolving discrepancies and notifying leadership of any inventory issues.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers and sales staff with scheduling pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Handle payments and write or adjust sales orders and customer balances.
  • Assist in the delivery of merchandise into customers' homes.
  • Move merchandise to and from the floor; display or rewrap for storage, delivery, or customer pickup.
  • Unload, identify, inspect, tag, and receive incoming merchandise.
  • Unpack, inspect, assemble, and wrap outgoing merchandise to ensure unblemished arrival.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by resolving discrepancies and notifying leadership of any issues.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. and occasionally up to 200 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb (ladder), balance, turn around, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend at the knees.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and a drug test.
