About the position
The Warehouse Assistant position at PC Home Center involves managing the logistics of building and design materials, ensuring efficient order fulfillment, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate machinery, while also emphasizing teamwork and communication with colleagues and management.
Responsibilities
- Pull and load orders for customers.
- Unload delivery trucks of windows, doors, cabinets, etc.
- Build and organize orders.
- Stock merchandise, lumber, and building materials.
- Safely operate a forklift.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines.
- Operate equipment, including manual hand jack and forklift.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with management, supervisors, and co-workers.
- Work both independently and within a team environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior work experience in a warehouse setting, lumber yard, and/or building materials warehouse is a plus.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Experience with warehouse management systems is required.
- Ability to lift, pull, carry, and load heavy objects.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in customer service is preferred.
- Computer literacy is preferred.
