About the position
Ferguson is currently seeking an entry level Warehouse Associate to join our team! As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your primary responsibilities will include safely operating a stand-up forklift (order selector/cherry picker) to pull and prepare outbound customer orders. You will be responsible for building, wrapping, sorting, and transporting pallets and packages, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Additionally, you will utilize technology such as RF devices to sort, scan, and prepare orders, which is essential for maintaining our high standards of service. In this role, you will also be tasked with receiving, verifying, staging, and stocking all incoming materials. It is important to maintain a clean and organized workspace, and you will participate with your team in keeping our facility clean, safe, and accident-free. As part of your duties, you may also be responsible for providing back-up driving duties and responsibilities as needed. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a stand-up forklift (order selector/cherry picker) to pull and prepare outbound customer orders.
- Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and packages.
- Use technology like RF devices to sort, scan, and prepare orders.
- Accurately and timely receive, verify, stage and stock all incoming material.
- Clean the workspace as you go and participate with the team in keeping our facility clean, safe, and accident free.
- Be responsible for providing back-up driving duties and responsibilities.
Requirements
- 0-3 years warehouse experience in shipping, receiving, delivery, or inventory management is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have valid state issued license.
- High attention to detail.
- Comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment.
- Positive demeanor, dependability, and strong work ethic.
- Self-starter with ability to learn our systems quickly.
- Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
- Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50lbs regularly.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
