About the position
The Warehouse Associate position at Plastic Express is responsible for performing essential warehouse functions in a safety-sensitive and production environment. This includes operations such as shipping and receiving, packaging, maintaining inventories, and performing light maintenance. The role requires effective communication with management and participation in training programs, ensuring a clean and safe work environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Unload goods and materials received, enter information into the system, label and locate materials.
- Separate customer orders and pull/stage orders as required.
- Repack materials to meet customer specifications and ensure all products are properly labeled.
- Perform functions in designated systems to receive or ship materials and participate in cycle counting.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and ensure good working order of machines, including forklifts and other material movers.
- Participate in daily safety briefings and monthly safety meetings, maintaining departmental housekeeping standards.
- Monitor and conduct day-to-day operations of packaging operations, ensuring all safety and production procedures are followed.
- Perform routine light maintenance on packaging equipment and supervise outside maintenance work when requested.
Requirements
- Must have a valid Forklift Certification and the ability to safely operate a forklift.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; previous warehousing experience is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are necessary.
- Ability to think independently and make decisions in the company's best interest.
