About the position
The Warehouse Shipping Associate at Staples is responsible for supporting the distribution center by wrapping and loading pallets into outbound trailers for delivery to retail stores. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm, focusing on safety, efficiency, and teamwork within an inclusive supply chain culture. Training is provided for necessary material handling equipment (MHE) operations, and the role requires physical stamina and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Wrap and load pallets into outbound trailers for delivery to retail stores.
- Build pallets of cases and totes for shipment to stores and stack empty pallets.
- Organize, stack, and operate automated shrink-wrapping machine to wrap pallets.
- Load finished pallets manually into outbound trailers using material handling equipment (MHE).
- Move product around the warehouse using MHE.
- Verify accuracy of completed pallets and resolve any discrepancies.
- Adopt safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices to avoid injury and damage to product.
- Assist in other departments and perform a variety of other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum three (3) months related experience in a warehouse environment or equivalent training, education, and experience.
- Ability to lift, lower, push, pull or carry product up to a maximum of 100 pounds by hand.
- Ability to work in a hot environment of approximately 95 degrees F and with seasonal temperature variations.
- Basic English language, reading and writing skills; basic math and data entry.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
Nice-to-haves
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker.
