About the position

The Warehouse Associate I position at Midwest Veterinary Supply, Inc. is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of goods within the distribution center. This role involves various tasks including order pulling, packing and shipping, receiving, inventory control, and maintaining general warehouse cleanliness. The associate will utilize RF scanners for inventory management and order fulfillment, while also adhering to safety and operational protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize an RF scanner to perform directed picks of inventory for customer order fulfillment.
  • Move completed or partially completed orders and carts to their respective areas for next step processing.
  • Visually inspect and alert lead/supervisor of potentially problematic inventory conditions.
  • Scan and verify that items pulled are the correct items to be shipped to the customer.
  • Apply appropriate packaging materials to ensure minimal risk of spoilage or damage during transit.
  • Validate lot/batch numbers, quantities, dosages, strengths, sizes, or other relevant product attributes for each order.
  • Print and apply shipping labels to packages.
  • Move prepared packages to their respective carrier's designated staging area.
  • Alert a team lead/supervisor of problematic inventory, carrier, or shipment conditions.
  • Utilize an RF scanner to complete inventory movement or replenishments.
  • Perform inventory/bin counts using an RF scanner.
  • Investigate misplaced or improper items and bin locations using an RF scanner.
  • Consolidate eligible inventory and locations to ensure efficient utilization of space using an RF scanner.
  • Receive inventory off Purchase Orders or ASNs using an RF scanner.
  • Perform inventory putaways of received inventory.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and obstruction-free work environment.
  • Clean and organize warehouse work areas and non-inventory items.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 months of similar work experience in a warehouse/distribution environment is preferred.
  • Forklift certified or ability to become forklift certified preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Basic computer skills, ability to operate a Windows-based computer preferred.
  • Ability to work well with others and independently.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and problem solve.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with RF scanners and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols.
