About the position
Airgas is currently searching for hard working individuals to assist with various warehouse functions. Unlike many distribution settings, we cross train our teams, meaning you get exposure to several areas of the operation. At times you may be receiving, stocking, picking, and packaging, and shipping product. In other words, you won't get bored! Plus, as you grow in your knowledge of our operation, we have more specialized functions for you to learn and grow into. Additionally, safety is our number one priority and a way of life in our facilities. To aid in making it a productive work environment, we also offer climate controlled facilities. Did I also mention that we start at $20.00 per hour? We also offer team based incentives, as we want you to be motivated!
Responsibilities
- Safely move product within a warehouse.
- Adhere to facility work rules and meet regular productivity, quality, and safety standards.
- Load, unload, palletize, receive, pick, and pack safety and welding products.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 75 pounds.
- Stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours.
- Read and comprehend customers' orders, bills of lading, etc.
- Use motorized conveyors and operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, order pickers, banding tools, and packaging equipment.
Requirements
- HS diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience.
- 0-1 year warehousing or similar experience.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to push and or pull up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours.
- Basic math skills.
- Knowledge or ability to learn computer software systems.
- Stand-up Forklift, Sit-down Forklift, Cherry Picker, and Pallet Jack experience preferred.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and work overtime as needed.
