About the position

As a Warehouse Associate at VF Corporation, you will play a crucial role in the shipping department, ensuring that goods are received, handled, stored, and dispatched according to established procedures and guidelines. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving incoming goods, checking for damage, and verifying discrepancies between goods and invoices. You will accurately sort, label, and store goods, optimizing warehouse space for efficient storage. Additionally, you will be responsible for picking, packing, and dispatching outgoing goods based on written or verbal requests or orders. In this role, you will enter data into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records and retrieve stored information to respond to inquiries regarding inventory levels or delivery schedules. Routine clerical activities will also be part of your responsibilities, such as answering telephones, updating stock cards, and completing various forms related to receipt, transfer, delivery, and dispatch. Under direct supervision, you will handle a variety of functions within the distribution center, including receiving, stocking, loading, and unloading merchandise, as well as operating heavy-duty equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts. This position requires a basic level of education, including reading, writing, and basic numeracy skills. You will be expected to follow simple instructions and operate some equipment under guidance. The problems you encounter will be defined and routine, with solutions readily available, and any nonstandard issues will be referred to your supervisor. Interaction with others will be limited to your team, and you will be accountable for delivering your tasks to agreed time and quality standards. Your performance will be measured frequently against predefined service level requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education; Associate's degree preferred.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Basic level of education required, including reading, writing, and basic numeracy skills.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions and operate equipment under guidance.
