About the position
Perdue Foods is part of Perdue Farms, a family-owned company heading into its second century of growth and innovation. With a goal of becoming the most trusted name in premium proteins, we create products for consumers and for retail and foodservice customers around the globe, while changing the way animals are raised for food. The position involves preparing billing/shipping documentation, scheduling deliveries, and some inventory updates. The role is actively involved in the company safety program and the long-term and short-term goals of the department.
Responsibilities
- Prepare billing paperwork
- Process customer orders and necessary correspondence, e.g., email, fax and telephone
- Work with other departments to communicate and resolve customer service issues
- Participate in company and department safety program
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Adhere to all safety rules including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters
Requirements
- High School or equivalent
- 2 - 4 years experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages
- Able to understand, speak and write fluent English
- Able to solve practical problems and deal with an assortment of variables
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and verbal forms
- Attendance is an essential function of this job
- Must be flexible on work schedule, including working during evening/night hours
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a perishable food commodity environment
- Microsoft Access
- Spanish is a plus
