About the position

The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for directing the daily activities of a warehouse or account, ensuring effective labor scheduling and optimal utilization of space and equipment as directed by the Distribution Manager. This full-time position operates on the 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with the potential for overtime and weekend work as needed. The role emphasizes a commitment to customer service, operational efficiency, and safety, aligning with the company's core values of respect, integrity, and continuous improvement. In this position, the Warehouse Coordinator will oversee various operational tasks, including receiving, storing, shipping, and handling returned or damaged goods. The coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory control and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and customer work instructions. A key aspect of the role is to motivate and lead the warehouse team, fostering a productive work environment through training and cross-training initiatives. The Warehouse Coordinator must maintain high standards of quality and productivity, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. This includes following all safety protocols and guidelines, reporting any unsafe conditions, and driving a culture of safety throughout the organization. The coordinator will also interface directly with customers, ensuring their requests are handled promptly and professionally, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily activities of the warehouse including labor scheduling and equipment utilization.
  • Plan and schedule all distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, and handling returned/damaged goods.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and customer work instructions.
  • Motivate and lead the team to achieve stated objectives.
  • Assist in training and cross-training of employees to maintain a productive work team.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control for each account.
  • Interface directly with customers and maintain professional relationships.
  • Report equipment and facility damage and repairs to the Distribution Manager.
  • Drive a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety policies and SOPs.
  • Continuously evaluate ways to improve accuracy and efficiency in the department.

Requirements

  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Must obtain and maintain a forklift license.
  • Ability to use handheld RF scan devices.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to twist, squat, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Willingness to work in a non-climate controlled environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in warehouse operations or logistics management.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and AIB guidelines.
