About the position
As a Warehouse/Delivery Driver at Werner Electric Supply, you will play a crucial role in the distribution of electrical products, services, and solutions. This position is not just about driving; it involves a variety of responsibilities that ensure our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. You will be responsible for loading and driving a delivery vehicle along established routes, delivering products to customer job sites, homes, or places of business. Your role will also include utilizing specialized equipment to measure, cut, assemble, and ship high-grade wire and conduit products according to customer specifications. In this fast-paced environment, you will work closely with a high-performing team and take direction from local Warehouse Supervisors to support business needs. Your communication skills will be essential as you represent Werner Electric Supply in a professional manner, relaying customer instructions to the appropriate personnel and providing feedback to supervisors from the field. You will also be responsible for inspecting products for defects and quality issues, ensuring that customer expectations are met before products go out for delivery. Additionally, you will assist in various warehouse duties, including picking, packing, receiving, cutting wire, and maintaining general cleanliness. This position offers a Monday to Friday work schedule from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with a starting pay of $19-$21 per hour, along with an annual bonus and merit increases based on performance. Responsibilities
- Load and drive delivery vehicle on established route to deliver products or render services.
- Utilize specialized equipment to measure, cut, assemble, and ship high-grade wire and conduit products to customer specifications.
- Take direction from local Warehouse Supervisors to support business needs.
- Execute job duties and operate equipment in accordance with all safety procedures.
- Relay customer's instructions to appropriate personnel.
- Provide feedback to supervisor from the field.
- Cut wire to customer specified lengths and parallel wire onto wood and metal reels.
- Pick, pack, and ship customer orders.
- Inspect product for defects and quality issues before delivery.
- Verify amounts of materials or items received and report any discrepancies.
- Assist in warehouse duties including picking, packing, receiving, cutting wire, and general clean up.
Requirements
- Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to learn and effectively use various business systems.
- Valid WI Driver's License.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
