About the position

The Delivery Driver at Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture is responsible for delivering high-quality products to customers in a safe and timely manner. This full-time position involves driving a large delivery truck, ensuring the safety and security of the delivery process, and providing excellent customer service during furniture assembly or repairs. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers high-quality products via large delivery truck to customers safely and courteously.
• Inspects delivery vehicles and ensures the safety and security of the delivery process.
• Drives long distances, which may require overnight stays 1-2 times per week.
• Reviews and verifies invoices and purchase requests for accuracy.
• Contacts customers to confirm delivery details via phone, email, and text.
• Maintains accurate delivery logs and records, following all company safety protocols.
• Safely delivers merchandise in perfect condition, providing friendly and efficient furniture assembly or repairs.
• Removes all packing materials and debris for return to store location.
• Maintains accurate inventory to ensure expedient movement of merchandise.
• Performs light assembly, affixes tickets, and prepares merchandise for store displays.
• Loads and unloads merchandise into customers' cars and delivery trucks safely and professionally.
• Maintains high standards of cleanliness and maintenance within the working environment.
• Inspects products upon receipt, following all policies and guidelines.
• Greets clients and answers phones in a prompt, professional manner.
• Obtains and maintains comprehensive knowledge of products.
• Assists with showroom changes, tagging merchandise, and maintaining displays.

Requirements

• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs unassisted regularly.
• 1-3 years of successful work experience, preferably in a warehouse environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to read invoices and use computer terminals.
• Ability to use a hand truck and operate small power tools.
• CDL Class 'C' preferred but not required.
• Must be 21 years or older.
