About the position

Ryder is seeking a dedicated and skilled Warehouse Dock Worker Forklift Operator to join their team in Miramar, FL. This permanent full-time position involves managing inbound products and operating various warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and effective communication while ensuring timely and accurate handling of materials within the warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs material moves with associated transactions as required by the customer
• Loads and unloads inbound/outbound trailers, ensuring all scanning is completed correctly
• Helps train dock employees on new procedures
• Ensures facility is secure at the end of the shift and investigates/resolves scanning issues
• Completes assignments safely within the allotted time
• Participates in work group and team activities for self-improvement and improving warehouse operations
• Picks product to fill customer orders
• Packs, crates, and prepares orders to load on truck/trailer
• Operates cardboard baler machine
• Conducts pre-trip inspections on the forklift daily
• Completes required training as scheduled

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year or more related shipping/receiving or warehouse experience preferred
• Forklift certification
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Capacity to transact system information productively
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Possesses flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices
• Must have a valid Driver's License and meet Ryder's driving qualifications
