About the position
The Warehouse/Dock Worker position at Island Express Systems involves maintaining a clean and safe work environment while efficiently handling freight and packages. The role requires collaboration with team members and adherence to safety regulations, making it essential for candidates to be dependable and detail-oriented. This position is available for both part-time and full-time schedules, with immediate start dates.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Stoop, twist, and stand for long periods of time.
- Unload freight cans and send packages down the belt for drivers.
- Scan shipments for processing.
- Build freight onto pallets and wrap them when completed.
- Conform to all safety rules and use appropriate safety equipment properly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Maintain a well-groomed appearance and wear the company uniform for all shifts (uniforms provided).
- Practice and promote good customer relations using professional conduct.
- Adhere to attendance, attitude, and flexibility expectations.
- Report all problems, incidents, and accidents immediately to the manager and complete any required documentation.
Requirements
- Must pass a background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to lift, carry, and/or push at least 70 lbs.
- Ability to work under stress in a fast-paced environment.
