About the position

The Warehouse & Event Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations for a catering and event company. This role is crucial for ensuring that equipment, supplies, and materials are efficiently managed to support successful event execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and experience in warehouse management, logistics, and utility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily warehouse operations, ensuring proper organization and maintenance of equipment, inventory, and supplies for events.
  • Oversee the receiving, storing, and distribution of all incoming materials, including food supplies and event props.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control systems to track stock levels and schedule regular audits.
  • Ensure all warehouse areas are clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Schedule and prioritize equipment deliveries and pickups to and from event sites, ensuring timely transport.
  • Monitor equipment condition and manage maintenance schedules for repairs or replacements.
  • Coordinate with the event production team to meet all logistical needs for each event.
  • Supervise and lead warehouse and utility staff, assigning tasks and managing schedules.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to staff members.
  • Work closely with event planning teams to prepare and transport necessary supplies and equipment for events.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve logistical issues or equipment shortages during events.
  • Support the setup and breakdown of events, managing equipment logistics on-site.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, or a similar role in the catering, events, or hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and ability to enforce these in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and work in various environments, including outdoor events.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to drive box trucks and other company vehicles.
