About The Position

The Warehouse Forklift Operator at Publix is responsible for skillfully maneuvering industrial powered equipment to ensure the smooth and safe movement of products within the warehouse. This role involves operating forklifts and pallet trucks to transport cases and pallets, replenish inventory, and maintain a clean working environment. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work under strict time constraints while fulfilling various operational needs.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old (19 years old for positions in Alabama).
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
• Successfully complete a Work Attitude Survey.
• Obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations by the start date.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 67 pounds (85 pounds in Boxed Meat/Dairy Warehouse).
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and twist.
• Ability to operate a pallet truck or forklift safely.
• Ability to stack products of varying weights.
• Ability to work under strict time requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and verify numbers.
• Ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver powered industrial equipment to move cases and pallets within the warehouse.
• Transport products from the receiving dock to reserve locations.
• Replenish pick locations as they are emptied by Warehouse Selectors.
• Rotate inventory using the oldest stock first.
• Maintain a clean warehouse and sweep out empty slots.
• Occasionally fill in for Warehouse Selectors and other positions as needed.
