About the position

The Warehouse General Manager at Interstate Batteries is responsible for overseeing the receiving, warehousing, and preparation of products for shipping. This role involves leading the warehouse team, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
• Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
• Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
• Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
• Manage and work well with others

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a manager or lead in a warehouse facility
• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
• Hands on experience with warehouse management
• Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
• Strong decision making and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Management experience (Overseeing others productivity)
• Must have forklift experience
• Must be able to read and speak English
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have reliable transportation
