About the position

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our warehouse team in the Bronx and Brooklyn areas. As a Warehouse Laborer, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse facility, involving tasks such as order picking, inventory management, packing, and machinery operation. Successful candidates will demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently pick items from shelves or bins according to pick lists or customer orders using handheld scanners or pick-to-light systems.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and stock audits to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming shipments, ensuring that all items are properly labeled and stored in designated locations.
  • Pack orders securely and efficiently, using appropriate packaging materials and techniques to prevent damage during transit.
  • Prepare orders for shipping according to company procedures and customer requirements.
  • Operate warehouse machinery and equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspection of machinery to ensure proper functioning.
  • Assist with various warehouse tasks as needed, including but not limited to loading and unloading trucks, organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to the warehouse supervisor immediately.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to [insert weight] pounds) and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks such as order picking and inventory counting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Valid forklift certification (if applicable) and experience operating warehouse machinery.

  • Familiarity with computerized inventory management systems and software.
