About the position

The Continuous Improvement Engineer at Ryder is responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization. This role involves utilizing engineering methodologies and data analysis to identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and implement strategies that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. The engineer will work closely with employees at all levels to drive initiatives that improve key business metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis to identify process gaps.
  • Map and document processes to facilitate improvements.
  • Develop and execute a continuous improvement plan addressing top business needs.
  • Drive process improvement activities to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development metrics.
  • Coach employees in the use of continuous improvement, quality assurance, and lean principles.
  • Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events, ensuring effective execution and follow-up.
  • Design and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) based on industry standards.
  • Support regulatory compliance and certification requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience in Distribution, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Transportation, or Supply Chain Logistics.
  • Functional experience with Lean methodologies and tools, including Kaizen facilitation and PDCA.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Experience with American Production Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification.
