About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Inventory Associate to join our beverage can manufacturing team. This role is crucial for managing inventory to support production, ensuring efficient stock control, and facilitating logistics operations. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Place and monitor orders with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of inventory.
  • Coordinate with production and purchasing teams to align inventory levels with production demands.
  • Organize, stock, and catalog products systematically for efficient retrieval and inventory checks.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on stored inventory, removing items that do not meet company standards.
  • Adhere to industry standards for health, safety, and quality in all handling and storage procedures.
  • Update and maintain accurate inventory records, tracking counts, locations, and item details.
  • Generate detailed inventory reports for management, including stock levels, turnover rates, and supplier performance.
  • Report discrepancies such as stock shortages or theft and initiate corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies for inventory management that align with company goals.
  • Conduct regular stock audits to maintain accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Safely load and unload trucks using a forklift, ensuring careful handling of inventory.
  • Coordinate with shipping and receiving teams to track incoming and outgoing inventory and ensure accurate system updates.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, maximizing space and workflow efficiency.
  • Assist in optimizing storage layout within the warehouse to streamline access and loading/unloading operations.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and spreadsheet tools for accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and inventory optimization.
  • Forklift certification and experience in loading/unloading trucks and moving materials safely within a warehouse environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce reports and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in counting, reporting, and tracking.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
  • A proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.
  • Critical thinking skills for troubleshooting inventory-related issues.
  • Physical strength and stamina for inventory movement, including loading/unloading tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in inventory management within manufacturing, preferably in the beverage or packaging industry.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and inventory optimization.
