About the position

The Warehouse Inventory Control position at Staples involves managing inventory and ensuring accuracy in product handling within a warehouse environment. This role is essential for maintaining efficient supply chain operations and requires adherence to safety protocols while operating material handling equipment. The position operates on a full-time schedule during the 2nd shift, with mandatory overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review inventory of products and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Identify delivery shortages and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks to move products within the warehouse.
  • Confirm accuracy of products and address discrepancies and damages with colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts to resolve issues.
  • Perform basic housekeeping in assigned areas of the warehouse.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass a drug screen legally.
  • Ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shifts as needed.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 to 100 pounds by hand.
  • Ability to walk and stand for 100% of the time.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of related experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) and ability to become certified.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
