The Warehouse Operator plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the warehouse, ensuring that all production duties are completed to meet the satisfaction of customers, team members, and vendors. This position involves a variety of tasks centered around the distribution of dairy-related products, which requires a keen attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards. The Warehouse Operator is responsible for accurately loading and unloading trucks, as well as picking orders in a timely and efficient manner. This role is essential in maintaining the flow of products through the warehouse and ensuring that all operations run smoothly. In this position, the Warehouse Operator must achieve assigned goals related to safety, quality, performance, and cost. This includes picking customer tickets in the correct sequence and pulling orders while following proper procedures, including the use of warehouse management systems. The operator will unload products upon arrival, verifying quantities and item details, and will be responsible for scanning pallet labels and moving items to their designated locations. Maintaining product rotation by date and code is critical for quality assurance, and the operator must identify products by labels and stage them for loading. Accurate record-keeping and documentation of product movement within the warehouse are vital components of this role. The Warehouse Operator must communicate effectively with the Warehouse Supervisor, Lead, or Senior team members regarding any potential issues that could impact the load schedule or customer satisfaction. Additionally, the operator is responsible for reporting mechanical malfunctions and identifying areas for improvement in productivity and equipment capabilities. Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and corporate policies is mandatory. The Warehouse Operator will also provide assistance across various areas of the warehouse as directed by supervisors and will begin to develop skills in operating forklifts and other equipment. Safety is a top priority, and the operator must report any safety concerns promptly and take corrective actions as necessary. This role also involves maintaining food safety and quality standards, ensuring that work areas are sanitary and adhere to sanitation practices, and effectively communicating between shifts and departments.
