The position involves a variety of tasks centered around inventory management and organization within a warehouse or storage environment. The primary responsibilities include stocking and retrieving inventory as needed, tagging and prepping parts for shipping, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Employees will be expected to store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other designated areas. This role requires marking stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment to ensure proper inventory tracking and management. In addition to inventory management, the job entails operating equipment such as forklifts and transporting packages to customers' vehicles. Employees will be responsible for moving freight, stock, or other materials to and from various locations, including storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers. This may involve manual handling or the use of trucks, tractors, or other equipment. The role also includes installing protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items during transportation. Maintaining equipment storage areas is crucial to ensure that inventory is protected and compliant with safety regulations. Employees will complete order receipts, issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers based on incoming requisitions. Stocking shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise is also a key responsibility. Additionally, employees will receive and count stock items, recording data either manually or on a computer, and cleaning display cases, shelves, and aisles as needed.
