About the position

The Warehouse Lead Industrial Engineer at Ryder System Inc. is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across operations by utilizing data-driven methodologies and engineering principles. This role focuses on enhancing performance metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth through effective process improvement strategies. The Lead Engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders, manage CI resources, and report to the Continuous Improvement Manager, while also being aligned with operational leadership.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and perform statistical analysis to identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
• Manage and complete high-impact continuous improvement projects to enhance business results.
• Support start-ups, retrofits, and expansions, including pricing inputs and certifications.
• Coach employees in the use of continuous improvement and Lean principles.
• Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events, ensuring effective execution and follow-up.
• Provide regular reports on progress against site objectives and make strategic recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain and seven years of related experience, or a Master's degree with five years of experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Advanced understanding of engineering methods and data analysis functions.
• Experience with Lean tools and quality standards, including Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen.

Nice-to-haves

• Intermediate skills in data visualization tools like PowerBI and Tableau.
• Experience with warehouse design tools such as AutoCAD and slotting software.
• Knowledge of material handling solutions and automation types.
