About the position

The Warehouse Lead Industrial Engineer at Ryder System Inc. is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across operations by leveraging data analytics, engineering methodologies, and lean tools. This role focuses on enhancing performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth while managing high-impact continuous improvement projects. The Lead Engineer will work closely with various stakeholders, including account management and customers, to implement effective solutions and ensure operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis to identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Manage and complete high-impact continuous improvement projects that lead to improved business results.
  • Support start-ups, retrofits, and expansions, including pricing inputs and certifications.
  • Demonstrate competency in engineering methods and coach employees in continuous improvement and lean principles.
  • Facilitate and execute Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events, ensuring follow-up on sustainment.
  • Provide regular reports on data and actions to measure progress against site objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain and seven years of related experience, or a Master's degree with five years of experience.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Advanced understanding of engineering and data analysis functions, including slotting and labor planning.
  • Proficiency in developing and managing lean tools and methodologies such as PDCA and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management operations and data analytics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate skills in data visualization tools like PowerBI and Tableau.
  • Experience with warehouse design tools such as AutoCAD and slotting software.
  • Knowledge of material handling solutions and automation types.
  • Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, cPMP, and APICS.
