About the position

The Warehouse Lead Industrial Engineer at Ryder System Inc. is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across operations by leveraging engineering methodologies and data analytics. This role focuses on enhancing performance metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth through effective process improvement strategies. The Lead Engineer will manage high-impact projects, coach employees on lean principles, and collaborate with various stakeholders to implement automation and engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and perform statistical analysis to identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
• Manage and complete high-impact continuous improvement projects to enhance business results.
• Support start-ups, retrofits, and expansions, including pricing inputs and certifications.
• Coach employees in the use of continuous improvement, quality assurance, and lean principles.
• Facilitate and execute Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events, ensuring follow-up on results.
• Provide regular reports on data and actions to measure progress against site objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with seven years of related experience, or a Master's degree with five years of experience.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering methods, lean tools, and quality standards.
• Proficiency in warehouse design tools such as CAD and warehouse management systems.
• Understanding of material handling solutions and automation types.

Nice-to-haves

• Intermediate skills in data visualization tools like PowerBI and Tableau.
• Knowledge of transportation design tools and mapping software.
• Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, cPMP, ISO/QMS, and APICS.
