About the position

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for supervising warehouse members, managing daily operations, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role involves overseeing the movement of slabs, conducting training, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment while leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure day-to-day tasks are being completed in a timely manner.
  • Manage warehouse members and their assignments.
  • Pull slabs from the warehouse based on orders.
  • Move slabs to loading areas using overhead cranes.
  • Ensure products are secured on vehicles and follow safety measures.
  • Unload slabs from containers using forklifts.
  • Conduct floor operations and assign team members as needed.
  • Lead stand-up meetings and perform effective shift changeovers.
  • Train and certify operators on various equipment.
  • Maintain a safety-oriented environment and proactively prevent injuries.
  • Follow and enforce all safety procedures according to standards.
  • Use problem-solving tools to eliminate safety issues.
  • Ensure the warehouse area is clean for customer tours.
  • Use systems to deliver customer orders complete and on time.
  • Identify process constraints and improve material flow and inventory accuracy using lean management techniques.
  • Lead projects and continuous improvement activities.
  • Use problem-solving tools such as 5S, 5 Why, PDCA, and focus boards.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • Effective use of technology including PCs, scanners, and tablets.
  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal), time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to learn product, process, and equipment.
  • Ability to lead, train, coach, and motivate warehouse employees.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and delegate appropriately.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the Stone Industry.
  • Forklift and crane experience.
  • High School Education required.
  • LEAN, Toyota Production System, Green Belt, 5S, or other continuous improvement training desired.
  • Excellent oral and written English language communication skills.
  • Provide high level of customer service.
  • Good organizational skills.
