About the position

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for assisting the shift supervisor in various warehouse operations, including shipping, loading, receiving, and inventory management. This role focuses on improving efficiency, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring quality in the workplace while also providing leadership and training to associates.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the shift supervisor in shipping, loading, receiving, and warehouse storage.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems related to warehouse operations.
  • Trace history of items to resolve discrepancies between inventory and stock control records.
  • Maintain positive employee morale and advise on care and preservation of items.
  • Implement methods for proper handling, storing, and shipping of stock.
  • Operate efficiently to increase productivity while maintaining safety and quality.
  • Train and direct associates for continuous improvement.
  • Assign duties and examine work for accuracy and compliance with policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED; or 6 to 12 months related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance.
  • Ability to utilize company resources and technology effectively.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and resolve conflicts.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to calculate figures and percentages.
  • Ability to become certified in forklift and motorized vehicles.
