General Pet Supply, a division of Central Pet & Garden Company, is currently seeking Warehouse Truck Loaders/Consolidators on Night Shift at our facility in Milwaukee, WI. You will play an important role in helping the organization achieve our goal of providing a high level of customer satisfaction. As a Warehouse Loader, you will be responsible for tasks related to packaging, consolidating, wrapping, and loading picked orders onto delivery trucks in the appropriate order and balancing. You will need to maintain accuracy while consolidating or loading and be expected to perform all aspects of the job as described. The work schedule is from Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 PM to 3:30 AM, with starting wages ranging from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour based on experience, plus an additional $2.00 night shift pay. Your key responsibilities will include accurately reviewing order and delivery documentation to ensure the proper product is sorted and/or loaded, identifying the correct pallet, wrapping pallet contents per specifications, consolidating and loading outgoing orders onto delivery trucks, and ensuring loads are stable and damage-free. You will also need to meet production, quality, and accuracy levels as established by the business unit, maintain regular and punctual attendance, and work extended hours as required by operational needs. Flexibility to work in other areas and departments is also necessary, along with maintaining a clean workplace to avoid tripping hazards or other accidents. Following all food safety policies and procedures is crucial, as is promoting a safe work environment by adhering to facility and company safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Accurately review order and delivery documentation to ensure proper product is sorted and/or loaded.
- Identify correct pallet and check order.
- Wrap pallet contents per specifications.
- Consolidate and load outgoing orders onto delivery trucks, ensuring loads are stable, damage-free and loaded in a manner that complies with maximum truck axle weights.
- Meet production, quality, and accuracy levels as established by business unit.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Work extended hours, as required by operational needs.
- Flexibility to work in other areas and departments, as needed.
- Maintain a clean workplace to avoid tripping hazards or other accidents.
- Follow all food safety policies and procedures including performing daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments and related activities as directed.
- Promote a safe work environment by following facility and company safety guidelines.
- Safely operate and become certified in use of electric pallet jack, walk-rider, forklift, shrink wrapper and/or other required equipment.
Requirements
- 2 or more years related warehouse experience, preferred.
- Previous forklift certification and RF scanner experience, preferred.
- Ability to count and perform basic math.
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds, and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
