About the position

We are immediately hiring a Warehouse Logistics Manager in Lansing, MI for our Supply Chain Solutions division. This position is crucial for overseeing the day-to-day operations within an assigned function, ensuring that all aspects of Operations and Account Management are effectively managed. The Warehouse Logistics Manager will be responsible for leading direct reports and achieving daily operational goals within their assigned functional area. This role requires a strong focus on customer service satisfaction and expectation management, as well as performance management and development of both exempt and non-exempt employees. The manager will also be tasked with planning and scheduling daily operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and adhering to state, local, and federal regulations. In addition to these essential functions, the Warehouse Logistics Manager will perform other duties as assigned, which may include off-shift support during critical customer network disruptions or crises. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of analytical ability to tackle unusual and difficult problems, demonstrate strong technical and professional skills in their job-related area, and make timely decisions. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to create and maintain professional relationships across all levels of the organization. The role demands flexibility, self-motivation, and the capability to excel in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively. Attention to detail and excellent follow-up practices are also critical for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations within an assigned function.
  • Manage customer service satisfaction and expectation management.
  • Perform staffing performance management and development of employees.
  • Plan and schedule daily operations effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and state/local/federal regulations.
  • Provide off-shift support during critical customer network disruptions or crises.
  • Make timely decisions regarding operational issues.
  • Maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.
  • Five (5) years or more of experience in Logistics, Transportation, Warehouse, or a related field required.
  • Five (5) years or more of previous plant experience required.
  • Five (5) years or more of contingency planning and crisis management support experience required.
  • One (1) year or more of direct supervisory experience required.
  • Five (5) years or more of 3PL experience required.
  • One (1) year or more of LLP (Lead Logistics Provider) background required.
  • Experience with Manhattan warehouse software preferred.
