About the position

We are immediately hiring a Warehouse Logistics Manager in Lansing, MI for our Supply Chain Solutions division. This position is crucial for overseeing the day-to-day operations within an assigned function and is responsible for all aspects of Operations and Account Management. The Warehouse Logistics Manager will lead direct reports and ensure the attainment of daily operational goals within their assigned functional area. This role requires a strong focus on customer service satisfaction and expectation management, as well as staffing performance management and development of both exempt and non-exempt employees. The manager will also be responsible for day-to-day planning and scheduling, health and safety management, and compliance with state, local, and federal regulations. In addition to these responsibilities, the Warehouse Logistics Manager will perform other duties as assigned, which may include oversight for receiving, picking, or shipping operations. The role demands a high level of analytical ability to address unusual and difficult problems, as well as demonstrated technical and professional skills in the job-related area. The manager will need to provide off-shift support in the event of critical customer network disruptions or crises, making timely decisions to ensure operational continuity. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to create and maintain professional relationships across all levels of the organization, including peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors. The position requires flexibility to operate independently and as part of a team, with a self-driven approach to excel in a fast-paced environment. Multi-tasking, organization, and excellent time management skills are critical, along with a detail-oriented mindset and effective follow-up practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations within an assigned function.
  • Manage all aspects of Operations and Account Management.
  • Lead direct reports and ensure attainment of daily operational goals.
  • Ensure customer service satisfaction and expectation management.
  • Manage staffing performance and development of employees.
  • Plan and schedule day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and state/local/federal regulations.
  • Provide off-shift support in the event of critical customer network disruptions or crises.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years or more of experience in Logistics, Transportation, Warehouse, or related field required.
  • Five (5) years or more of previous plant experience required.
  • Five (5) years or more of contingency planning and crisis management support experience required.
  • One (1) year or more of direct supervisory experience required.
  • Five (5) years or more of 3PL experience required.
  • One (1) year or more of LLP (Lead Logistics Provider) background required.
  • Experience with Manhattan warehouse software preferred.
