In this role, the Warehouse and Logistics Manager will manage on-site warehouse activities while coordinating off-site warehousing requirements. Training warehouse personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations is a key responsibility, as is controlling inventory levels through effective analysis and cycle counting programs. The manager will work closely with the team to design and implement optimal logistics plans, utilizing the latest inventory control technologies such as barcoding and automated labeling. The position also involves developing and monitoring performance standards to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in warehouse operations. This includes managing relationships with off-site storage providers, overseeing shipment scheduling, and ensuring accurate inventory through periodic cycle counts. The manager will be responsible for budget management related to warehouse expenses and will recommend equipment upgrades to enhance productivity. Additionally, the Warehouse and Logistics Manager will champion continuous process improvement initiatives, establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse productivity, and maintain an organized and safe working environment. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment while ensuring that all safety and quality control measures are adhered to.

Responsibilities

  • Manage warehouse activities on-site and coordinate off-site warehousing requirements.
  • Train warehouse personnel to ensure safe operations and effective shipping and receiving operations.
  • Control inventory and prepare optimal sizes to be kept within the organization, including stocking level analysis and cycle counting.
  • Design and implement an optimal logistics plan for efficient operations, utilizing inventory control technologies.
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate performance standards for effectiveness and efficiency in assigned areas.
  • Establish and manage relationships with off-site storage providers as required.
  • Direct the scheduling of shipments and notify concerned departments or customers of arrival dates.
  • Oversee periodic cycle count processes to ensure accurate inventory.
  • Manage the budget for all warehouse expenses effectively.
  • Adhere to US and International Trade Compliance laws and regulations.
  • Ensure security of the building and goods at all times.
  • Champion continuous process improvement initiatives in warehousing solutions.
  • Establish and report warehouse productivity KPIs on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain organized, safe, and orderly warehouse conditions.
  • Oversee inventory management processes to meet department and company goals.
  • Monitor and audit Kanbans to ensure product availability when needed.
  • Develop cost-saving initiatives through optimizing logistics and monitoring shipping material usage.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or industrial engineering.
  • 3-5 years' experience in warehousing and distribution, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS applications.
  • Ability to interact efficiently within MRP systems (JDEdwards experience preferred).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
