About the position

The Maintenance Technician at NFI Industries is responsible for performing basic repairs and upkeep of warehouse operations. This role involves evaluating mechanical and electrical failures, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring production equipment operates efficiently. The technician will work under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, Manager, or General Manager to maintain safety standards and communicate effectively about equipment status and repair needs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates mechanical and/or electrical failures in production equipment to determine appropriate corrective action.
• Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots, and repairs all production equipment as needed.
• Operates production machinery according to established production needs while inspecting finished products for quality.
• Responsible for set-up, loading, starting, adjusting process variables, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and properly shutting down process equipment in accordance with published production schedules and product specifications.
• Communicates required repair list of broken items to Manager in a timely manner.
• Informs Manager of items that cannot be repaired and require an outside vendor.
• Maintains tools required for the job and ensures timely purchase of necessary tools.
• Supports the Safety Program of the facility and ensures compliance with federal and company regulations in maintenance areas.
• Makes recommendations to the Manager on items that need repair or upgrade.
• Maintains a list of all contractors/vendors.
• Notifies the shift supervisor of significant deviations from normal operating conditions.
• Assists packers and material handling personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4-6 years of related experience in maintenance or a similar field.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in varying facility conditions.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the maintenance field.
• Self-starter with a 'can-do' attitude.
• Relies on experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
