About the position

The Warehouse Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks within the warehouse environment. This role involves evaluating mechanical and electrical failures, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring that production equipment operates efficiently. The technician will work under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, Manager, or General Manager to maintain safety standards and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates mechanical and/or electrical failures in production equipment to determine appropriate corrective action.
• Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots, and repairs all production equipment as needed.
• Operates production machinery according to established production needs while inspecting finished products for quality.
• Sets up, loads, starts, adjusts process variables, diagnoses, troubleshoots, and properly shuts down process equipment in accordance with production schedules and product specifications.
• Communicates required repair list of broken items to the Manager in a timely manner.
• Informs the Manager of items that cannot be repaired and require an outside vendor.
• Maintains tools required for the job and manages the purchase of necessary tools.
• Supports the Safety Program of the facility and ensures compliance with federal and company regulations.
• Makes recommendations to the Manager on items that need repair or upgrade.
• Maintains a list of all contractors/vendors.
• Notifies the shift supervisor of significant deviations from normal operating conditions.
• Assists packers and material handling personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4-6 years of related experience required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in varying facility conditions.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the maintenance field.
• Self-starter with a 'can-do' attitude.
