About the position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all functions of the distribution center, ensuring efficient operations in receiving, picking, scanning, loading, and inventory management. This role involves direct management of warehouse employees, budget management, and coordination with other departments and third-party vendors to maintain effective operations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all functions of the distribution center including receiving, picking, scanning, loading, and inventory management.
  • Directly manage warehouse employees and ensure efficient labor management within budget.
  • Manage the selection, purchase, and utilization of company assets for warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate with other departments for upgrades and repairs.
  • Develop business relationships for efficient operations with third-party vendors.
  • Maintain current certificates of insurance and hold harmless agreements for contracted vendors.
  • Create programs for hiring, training, and professional development of staff.
  • Perform management functions including staff selection, development, and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with the safety department for training and safety inspections.
  • Ensure safe, clean, and efficient warehouse operations to meet service standards.
  • Develop and implement work schedules and assignments for effective operations.
  • Make recommendations to improve warehouse operations to the Operations Director.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local shipping and receiving requirements.
  • Suggest efficiency ideas and assist with implementation of changes in operations.
  • Identify problems and propose solutions to management.
  • Lead and develop the warehouse team to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Maintain accuracy in daily operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in warehouse management.
  • Ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and manage others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
