About the position

The Warehouse Manager at Li-Cycle Corp is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining efficient delivery processes. Responsibilities

  • Supervise Forklift Operators, Material Handlers, and Drivers to ensure accurate and safe processes.
  • Manage staff by planning schedules, evaluating performance, and participating in performance evaluations.
  • Ensure all products meet customer and product requirements upon entering or exiting the facility.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Troubleshoot and solve issues that arise during shifts, working cross-functionally to resolve them.
  • Review all in-bound shipments for accuracy.
  • Manage the shipping & receiving office, handling distribution and storage of freight and products.
  • Ensure timely shipping of production orders in adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Communicate delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to relevant parties.
  • Maintain strict control over inventory levels for audits.
  • Plan warehouse layout and space requirements to optimize storage and prevent loss or damage.
  • Enforce corporate policies regarding security and safety, ensuring proper PPE usage.
  • Maintain documentation regarding regulated products and hazardous materials.
  • Supervise warehouse employees, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels and supplies.
  • Identify discrepancies in inventory records and report them immediately.
  • Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments.
  • Monitor performance metrics for shipping and receiving operations.
  • Report safety and quality problems immediately.
  • Review forklift logs and address issues as necessary.
  • Maintain employee work schedules, including timecard approval and job assignments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with experience in manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, supply chain management, inventory control, or materials management.
  • 5 years of direct work experience in warehouse management, inventory control, and supply chain management.
  • Direct knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and other safety systems.
  • Experience with RFID, bar code systems, and EDI may be required.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Good writing skills and knowledge of warehouse documentation.
  • Ability to interpret and act upon complex instructions.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
