About the position

The Warehouse Manager will oversee the daily operations of a warehouse for an Austin-based record label and distribution company, focusing on logistics for both direct-to-consumer and business-to-business sales. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing warehouse processes to support inventory management and shipping logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of employees and oversee all day-to-day operations of the warehouse.
  • Ensure a safe and productive work environment, enforcing rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules and set team goals in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Support Supply Chain Team on inventory-related matters including cycle counts and claims.
  • Regularly provide performance metrics and feedback to senior leadership.
  • Lead the discovery and implementation of new Warehouse Management initiatives.
  • Adhere to and enforce shipping and receiving SOP/Guidelines set by management.
  • Engage in regular staffing performance management and development.
  • Maintain robust security protocols to protect data integrity.
  • Oversee all receiving to the Inventory Management System and verify receipts with Supply Chain Team.
  • Liaise with Supply Chain Coordinator to track and resolve claims and ensure proper accounting.
  • Develop and maintain damaged/quarantined inventory location and audit with Head of Operations.
  • Lead investigations of inventory discrepancies and damages.
  • Ensure freight charges are captured accurately and archived.
  • Publish daily receiving report to key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Great people skills and a natural leader/team player
  • Experience with packing and shipping of vinyl records and physical media (2+ years preferred)
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization
  • Confidence to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Proficiency in logistics concepts and terminology
  • Experience in a comparable role (3+ years)
  • 3PL or equivalent shipping and receiving experience (3+)
  • Global logistics experience including inbound and outbound
  • Deep understanding of domestic LTL shipping
  • Demonstrated competence using Excel including pivot tables and advanced formulas
  • Experience with SAP, IMS or ERP Program (2+ years)
  • Familiarity with Shopify (preferably D2C and Wholesale channels)
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) knowledge
  • Inventory Control and Management experience
  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally
