About the position

The Warehouse & Materials Manager oversees all aspects of warehouse operations, focusing on materials flow, inventory control, and the accuracy of goods inventories. This role is responsible for managing replenishment transactions, receiving, shipping, and ensuring cost-efficient warehouse functions. The manager ensures proper control and requisitioning of materials to meet production requirements and is accountable for meeting monthly goals while analyzing performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the team responsible for material control, planning, purchasing, scheduling, follow-up, and reporting activities.
  • Maintains material requirements, purchasing, and finite production planning parameters, balancing inventory levels to optimize cost and service.
  • Establishes, maintains, and improves business practices, procedures, and documentation for supplier releases, purchasing, incoming material shipments, and inventory levels.
  • Controls all aspects of the inventory life cycle for raw materials and finished goods, including accuracy and obsolescence management.
  • Optimizes and executes all shipping, receiving, purchasing, and material control functions.
  • Implements a system to evaluate, monitor, and report supplier scorecard performance.
  • Represents the plant in new product development teams and project work.
  • Interacts with customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years related experience in warehouse and materials management.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams to deliver results.
  • Proven ability to manage projects within a matrix structure.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and related software applications; order processing systems; project management software; manufacturing software; and database software.
  • Thorough knowledge of MRP, order handling, and inventory management concepts.
  • Strong demonstrated leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with Syteline CSI or a comparable inventory management system.
  • Hands-on experience with the handling, storage, and shipment of hazardous chemicals, including knowledge of DOT and EPA regulations.
  • Proven experience in drafting and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process aids.
