About the position

The Warehouse Operations Manager at Griffin Greenhouse Supplies Inc. is responsible for leading a high-performing team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role focuses on driving operational success through efficiency, leadership, and continuous improvement. The manager will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and foster a collaborative team culture that values contributions and promotes growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of warehouse personnel, fostering trust, engagement, and open communication.
  • Motivate the team to achieve operational excellence, ensuring efficiency in all tasks, including receiving, inventory management, and shipping.
  • Drive process improvements by engaging with your team and implementing effective solutions.
  • Oversee warehouse maintenance, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage inventory by performing daily cycle counts and ensuring product availability with minimal surplus.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Purchasing and Sales, to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Lead safety initiatives by ensuring OSHA compliance and providing training to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate daily operations with your team to ensure smooth workflow, including labor planning and scheduling.
  • Address performance and attendance, providing feedback and managing conflicts to maintain harmony.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or Transportation.
  • 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and logistics, required.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams, with experience in motivating, training, and mentoring staff to achieve performance goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and advanced Excel.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and conflict resolution expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, empowering and developing team members through guidance, support, and active listening.
  • Proven track record of building a cohesive team by encouraging growth, fostering collaboration, and promoting individual accountability.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks), and perform various physical tasks as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in OSHA Safety (preferred, but not required).
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons and maintain certifications in hazardous material and forklift safety.
