About the position

The Warehouse Operations Specialist at PGL is responsible for planning and coordinating logistics services, storage, and distribution operations within the organization. This role involves managing the activities of external organizations that partner with PGL in the storage and distribution of materials or products. The specialist will engage in various tasks including packing, repacking, unloading, and positioning products or goods in or around transportation vehicles. They will also be responsible for carrying necessary tools or supplies from storage or trucks and ensuring their return after use. Identifying and marking containers with appropriate tags is a critical part of the job, as is reading work orders or receiving oral instructions to determine work assignments or material needs. In addition to these tasks, the Warehouse Operations Specialist will record the number of units handled or moved using operational documents. They will be involved in moving freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, either by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment. Sorting, recording, and organizing cargo or customer goods before loading and unloading or situating for storage is also a key responsibility. The specialist will confer with customers via telephone, email, or in person to provide information about products or services related to their contracted offerings, take or enter orders, and obtain details regarding inventory or storage. Maintaining records of customer interactions or transactions, including inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken, is essential for this role. The position requires a strong focus on safety and compliance, as the specialist will be responsible for performing safety inspections of work areas, cleaning equipment or machinery, and ensuring a safe work environment. Overall, the Warehouse Operations Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring efficient logistics operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Under 1 year of related experience.
  • Knowledge of transportation principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes.
  • Knowledge of production processes and quality control techniques.
