The Warehouse Operator - Inventory Control position at World Wide Technology (WWT) is a critical role within our logistics and warehousing operations. This position is responsible for receiving, moving, picking, and shipping products throughout our warehouse and integration operations. The Warehouse Operator will operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) inside and around racking systems, ensuring that all products are safely and securely loaded or stored. The role requires a strong focus on safety and best practices while operating equipment such as PITs, cranes, or box trucks. The Warehouse Operator will also be responsible for applying and scanning labels to ensure that products are properly tracked, which is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy and efficiency. In this fast-paced environment, the Warehouse Operator will work closely with supervisors to set goals and priorities for individual work, managing time efficiently to accomplish these goals. The position demands a proactive approach to identifying areas for efficiency and process improvement within the work area. Operators will be expected to apply new ideas or approaches to enhance outputs and utilize established tools and techniques to track progress related to implementing these improvements. The role also involves collecting information to understand problems, researching known solutions for routine issues, and implementing prescribed steps to ensure effective resolution. The Warehouse Operator must demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team. Attention to detail is crucial, as operators will need to take notes during discussions, ask clarifying questions, and restate information to check for understanding. Punctuality and reliability in meeting deadlines are essential, as is the ability to remain focused on tasks without becoming sidetracked by non-urgent interruptions. Additionally, compliance with safety guidelines and promoting a clean and organized warehouse operation (5S) are key responsibilities of this role.
