About the position

Darigold is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operator for our Caldwell location. This role is crucial for the timely and accurate tracking of products entering and leaving the warehouse. The Warehouse Operator will be responsible for the physical management of products within the plant, ensuring that all operations comply with Food Safety and Quality requirements as outlined in Darigold's Good Manufacturing Policy. This includes adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and participating in facility employee training sessions. The Warehouse Operator must also report any concerns that could impact Food Safety or Quality to their immediate supervisor, the plant Quality Manager, or the Plant Manager. In this position, the Warehouse Operator will engage in various tasks including receiving shipments, tracking and reconciling inventory, organizing the storage area, maintaining sanitation in the work area, conducting inspections for quality assurance, and transferring finished goods, packaging materials, and ingredients. Ensuring accurate and timely counts and reporting is also a critical responsibility of this role. The Warehouse Operator will play a key role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of warehouse operations, contributing to the overall success of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving shipments and materials into the warehouse.
  • Tracking and reconciling inventory levels.
  • Organizing the storage area for optimal efficiency.
  • Maintaining sanitation and cleanliness in the work area.
  • Conducting inspections for quality assurance.
  • Transferring finished goods, packaging materials, and ingredients as needed.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely counts and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year of production experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to read and follow directions from load sheets, schematics, and product labels.
  • Safe operation of a stand-up forklift, sit-down forklift, and electric pallet jack (certification preferred).
  • Experience with safe loading and unloading of semi-trailers.
  • Knowledge of accurate and timely receiving and inventory management practices, including the use of scan guns, pallet tags, pick lists, packing slips, and computer entry into Oracle and Access Lot Tracking database.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work without close supervision and perform multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and move 60 pounds.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a cool and refrigerated environment.
  • Experience using an RF scanner gun.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout a 10-hour shift.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to meet all warehouse performance standards.
  • Ability to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Ability to learn rapidly and perform multiple tasks.
