The Warehouse Person (Loader) position is a labor-intensive role that involves the hand building of pallets of products for bulk and route trucks. This position requires strict attention to order accuracy, ensuring that outgoing trucks are loaded correctly and incoming trucks are unloaded efficiently. Employees will work from an electronic order system or order sheets to build loads, utilizing a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. Accuracy in loading and compliance with shipper/receiver documentation are critical components of this role. Additionally, employees must maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to warehouse instructions while building loads. The position may require working in various weather conditions, and shift durations can vary daily based on workload. Transport truck loading involves moving full pallets of products from the warehouse onto a trailer and removing any returned pallets or plastic flats. Bulk truck loading requires selecting designated packages and flavors of products from the warehouse and loading them onto a pallet, ensuring the stability of the pallet through proper stacking and shrink-wrapping. Most pallets are loaded onto a trailer for local delivery, and the position is also responsible for unloading returned products and pallets. Route truck loading entails selecting designated packages and flavors or pallets of products from the warehouse and loading them into the truck, with customization based on the salesperson's order. The role requires lifting a high volume of cases, typically between 20-45 pounds per case, repeatedly throughout the work period. Constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping are necessary as products are moved throughout the warehouse.
